I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography, University of North Texas (UNT). I received my B.Sc. from Peking University, China, M.Sc. from the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ph.D. from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Before joining UNT, I was a Staff Associate/GIS Specialist at the Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), Columbia University, and an instructor for the Geospatial Technologies Certificate Program at the School of Continuing Education, Columbia University. I also worked as a Senior GIS Analyst/Programmer at Titan Corporation in California. 

Research: 

  • GIS in environmental science, transportation, public health, and emergency response;
  • Spatial analysis and spatial modeling;
  • Remote sensing and digital image analysis;
  • Integrated applications of GIS/GPS and remote sensing.

Teaching: (4*** - undergraduate; 5*** - graduate)
