My interests are in the archaeology of North America with particular reference to what can be learned from animal remains from archaeology and paleontology sites. My research centers on examining human and environment interactions through time. Current projects include working with prehistoric data to provide time-depth for biological conservation and ecosystems management.
I teach several archaeology classes at UNT including Archaeological Science 2800, Texas Archaeology, and North American Archaeology. Archaeology is important in modern society because it helps us put our current culture into a larger perspective on what it means to be human.
